Update the gender selection to list personal pronouns instead of gender classifications
Hello, I am the executive director at St. Joseph's School of Music.
Can the gender qualifier on the student profile page be changed to "preferred pronouns". This would be a more helpful and specific designation for our staff and teachers, instead of male/female/not specified.
Drop down options should be:
not specified, she/her, he/him, and they/them.
The default should be "not specified" (rather than male, as it currently is!)
This is becoming an important issue at our school, and I imagine is or will be for all schools in the near future.

Male, Female... and that's it?
When adding new people to the system, Studio Helper only gives two gender options, male and female, and it automatically defaults to male.
Could Studio Helper please recognize that there are people who fall outside the gender binary? We have several in our studio, and it is not right for them to be forced to choose one or the other when neither or both could be correct.
Please add some more options so that everyone could be represented. Better still, please add more options and also have the gender stop defaulting to male and have a blank space instead. That…
11 votesThere is no longer a requirement to choose only male or female for the gender of a student. The software now allows for no gender-specific designation to be made.

Custom Permissions...Create, Edit, Delete events on calendar
It would be great if you could separate the Create, Edit, Delete events on calendar options under permissions. For example some instructors I allow more freedom than others to adjust their schedules. Likewise, I don’t necessarily want anyone to be able to delete events so it seems that this permission option should be more flexible. Is there a way to customize this per instructor?
3 votesI’m happy to report that the permission to delete calendar events is now separated from the permission to create/edit calendar events. Note that, if you have staff members who are designated as Studio Managers, their permissions override this since the software treats them as if they were the Studio Admin.

Display "Parent email" on Teacher Roster Reports
When running a Teacher Roster Report, there is no column for parent email address. All other contact information is there. It would be extremely helpful to have the parent email address also displayed on a teacher roster report.

Allow multiple teachers on event
For certain classes, we have multiple teachers on the same event. Rather than clutter the admin. calendar with a separate event for each teacher, it would be nice to be able have multiple teachers on an event.

Calendar- drag and drop + reschedule & Forfeit options
I'd love to be able to drag an event on the calendar instead of going into the event and changing the time or date etc. i'd also love to have under attendance two more options: reschedule and forfeit. if a client informs us they're not coming too late the lesson is forfeit and that'll give me a chance to keep track, then if they let us know in a timely manner i'd love to have an option that says reschedule and then we can reschedule their lesson.
67 votesIt took a while to get this done (longer than it should have), but we now have a drag and drop calendar in Studio Helper. Along with the drag and drop functionality, there is also now a month view, and a few other minor improvements that we’re still working to refine. We welcome your feedback on how we can make this even better. :)

Custom Attendance Status'
In the attendance section there is no way for teachers to schedule / report make-up lessons. This requires our teachers to email in our company any time a make-up lesson is completed.
It'd be cool if there was a way for us to have the attendance options be:
Attended
Excused
UnexcusedIf the option Excused was chosen then a little link would pop up to report a make-up lesson completed, which would show up in the attendance records.
This would be a huge huge fix for us.
136 votesChanging the name of this suggestion as we are working on the custom attendance status’. We will still use the basic three ways to charge, attended, cancelled and absent. But you will be able to make a custom attendance name and use one of the status’ list whether it will be charged or not. Once this goes live, if there are other areas you think would benefit SH, please put that in a new suggestion.

You can now hide all help messages by selecting the box at the bottom right of studio settings.

Allow a "blackout" option for the calendar
If the studio is closed for spring break, or for an event, etc, the calendar is locked down on that day and teachers are not allowed to book lessons.
If you look at the calendar, it should be easy to see that the blackout days are not available to be booked, and a description of why (ie: spring break, thanksgiving, etc).
64 votesThis is finished….Create blackouts by going to calendar>setup>studio closure dates….keep in mind that you will not be able to create a black out date until all events are removed from that particular time frame.

Automatic recurring credit card billing!!!
To automatically charge credit cards for lessons, in place of just invoices. I like getting the money in the account, and not spending my time collecting invoices. The commitment to pay for lessons on a monthly agreement is much easier. I will use this program when monthly billing can be done automatically, not invoices.

find a way to allow the system to save faster.
I have an excellent high speed internet connection and a computer with a fast processor, however, it is extremely slow when I "save" a record or anything else for that matter (calendar event, a change, etc.) Is there a way to fix this?

Allow "all students" to register for an event with an enrollment form
There are times (like recitals, playing parties & special events) that I want to open an event to all students -- not just the students of one teacher. An "all student" option would be great.

Separate attendance and notes in teacher permissions
Our staff (not teachers) records lesson attendance, but it would be extremely useful for our teachers to be able to view and comment on notes. At the moment, permission for attendance and notes are linked. Can this be separated?

Remove "inactive" teachers from drop down menus in calendar
It is annoying to have such a long list show up

Give Highlight Options to Attendance Status
It would be great if different Attendance Status could be more identifiable on the calendar. For example, if a student has canceled, but has given enough notice to receive a make-up lesson, then it would be great if we could set the attendance as 'Cancelled with Notice' and that it showed up with a highlighted colour or something. This way, when I am going through to check who we owe make-up lessons to, it will be as simple as looking at a week glance.

Add a Planning Notes Area, Lesson and Planning Notes History
It would be incredibly useful to have your notes structured in the following way:
- a planning section for the teacher to make notes about planned activities for upcoming lessons that the student could not see
- a lesson notes section which the student can see when they log in (or have emailed, as the current options offer)
- a screen or report that shows the running history (chronologically) of all the planning and lesson notes, complete with formatting intact to keep it easy to follow visually
That would be truly useful and actually replace the paper note keeping system many teachers have…
8 votesThere is now a private and public notes sections in profiles. Entering notes into the public section will allow the student to see these notes when going to their profile after logging in

Change Event Time Intervals to every 15 minutes as default
Wondering if it would be possible to have the default 'start time' and 'end time' display in increments of 15 minutes as opposed to 30 minutes.
We have many events that begin/end at :00, :15, :30, :45 and last anywhere from 30-120 minutes.

Deal with forgotten login / password info on the *studio's* website - provide link to studiohelper.com site where they can be retrieved
A password can be reset on the StudioHelper site, here:

explicitly on their site, for example, with a short message stating that is
where they can deal with forgotten passwords. It's otherwise not clear on the studio side, as that message/link does not appear as part of the embedded html that makes up the remote login. There is also no fail mechanism that says "you've entered an incorrect password" when you hit "Enter" - the page just refreshes.Please include that as a line of code…
5 votesWe have several ways to retrieve passwords. You can click the loss password link on the log in page, you can have the teacher change it for you or reset it for you and once logged in you can change the password.
