split student and parent in the event reminder
Lot's of my students don't have their own emails. At first I tried leaving the email address in the student profile bland --- but then the student did not receive their lesson notes when I filled out the attendance info.
So I took out the parent email and had only a student email. Then I couldn't send email or invoices to parents.
I would like to see the options for event notification to be:
teacher
student
parent

Database for instrument rentals/loans
It would be very helpful to be able to maintain an inventory of instruments and track rentals. Another potential revenue stream for music studios!
3 votesYou can make use of the Lending Library to keep a database of instruments, books, and other school items that are currently being borrowed, keep track who’s borrowing them, and assign the current status (returned or not). Double Booking?
I've been running into trouble with a certain thing. Sometimes a student will cancel a fair amount of time in advance, and I will adjust their attendance accordingly to absent or canceled. Often times I will then book a one-time make up lesson for another student in that same slot. When I try to book it in the calendar, however, it will say the slot is already taken (even though the slot was canceled). Is there a way around this (don't know if I'm missing something?)? If not, can there be a way for this to be fixed?
3 votesPlease email support for issues with the program. :-) support@studiohelper.com. The double booking will not allow you to book a time slot that is already booked by either the teacher or student in the series somewhere. It may not be doublebooked on the day you are creating the event, but will be somewhere in the repeating series weeks, which is the reason it will not let you. You will need to find the double booking in the series of events. For more help, please email support. This is a support issue and not technically a suggestion. I will decline this for you and wait to hear from you in support.

Have an area in invoice for us to permanently have payment options.
I often forget to cut and paste bank details in every invoice and would love to have those details be permanent
3 votesWe already have this feature in place. Just edit the Invoice Email template and go to People > Email Templates > System Templates and click Customize Invoice. From there, you can add your bank details so that it will always be included in future invoice notifications that you will send out.

Boolean Operator for Mass Email
I've come up with a work around to add more search criteria for mass emails by grouping types of classes to include location however I when I select the specific criteria it selects all applicable matches. I would like to have a boolean operator added when I can select multiple criteria; for example piano lessons in X or Y location. Locations being a different type of class.

have a save option so you can save different teachers on any given day.
You should have a save option on the calender so you can set up your staff of teachers on different days. So when you switch from Monday to Tuesday you can have a total different line-up of teachers without having to filter or update the list. This would help for those schools that may have say 20 teachers on staff but only 5 or six teach on any given day.

Create the ability to select from a range of email templates when sending from the system
I have different emails I send out at different times. Eg. Emails for the the first invoice for a student, emails for late fee reminders, emails as a welcome etc. It would be effective to have the ability to create and then select from a list of templates when you're sending emails. At the moment, the fact there is only one email for sending invoices is restrictive and not very realistic in a business context.
The ability to customise and then select from a drop down list of templates before sending a group of emails would be a big efficiency…
2 votesYou can create your own email templates by going to people list>email templates>email templates and click on new template on the far right. You can make these templates anything you want them to be. Just be sure to use the %% where needed.

Allow a report option for students BY teacher and that shows the instrument/lesson
Please provide an expanded option under reports to list students BY teacher AND add the option to include the instrument/lesson the student takes. Having a master list is ok but unnecessary and inappropropriate for every teacher to have every other teacher's student list.

Calendar View
Can we save the look of our calendars, so that when we log off and on, we can come back and see the same screen image and settings as we logged out with, without having to "toggle the sidebar" or select "teachers" or "day" or "week" settings, in order to save time in getting it back to the same view that we always use?

Add a teacher check box to the contact list report
i need to run contact list reports and sort the list by instructor. We are updating the contact information for our students and the teachers are responsible for collecting this information. Can you ad a check box for instructor to the contact list report

Financial Reports
It would be great if the reports could be higher functioning like QuickBooks or at least be able to access more detailed reports e.g. run a report on outstanding invoices per category. It seems this is supposed to be an option but I am unable to generate it.

Track student progress and books/pieces students have completed
Under the student profile, have a way to list the books and pieces the students have completed. Then, be able to print this information as a report.

Allow lesson notes to show up on reconcile page
I would like to be able to easily see the previous lesson notes on the same page as the reconcile page because it would allow me to easily see those notes and decide what to keep as an assignment for that current lesson without having to generate a report and then flip back and forth between the report page and the reconcile page.

Taking of Attendance
Setting of Attendance is currently only limited to the 1st 50 entries. As such we cannot set attendance for any other events after the 1st 50.
We should be able to select the date range.

Online payment options for UK studios
Would be great to have an affiliate payment body such as authorize.met but for UK clients so our students can pay online through studio helper. Paypal is ok but a surprising number of our students don't have a paypal account and can't be bothered with the hassle of setting one up. It's important we get an online payment option with nominal fees too, 5.5% is too much!!
2 votesWe’ll be looking into potential merchant accounts besides Paypal that will support UK customers. Most have very high fees, however.

print to pdf looks good. could you set it up so that the teacher name prints across the top and maybe the event location is posted with the event entry? I have several teachers that share 7 studios, and they are not always assigned to the same studio.

Negative # on Invoices
NEED to be able to enter a negative number on invoices, for credits etc. Surely this is not hard to do. Your invoicing needs to be able to do what typical invoicing software can do. How about % feature for discounts etc.
