Track teacher pay rates, and reports for teacher performance
I currently use the lessons taught report and cross reference other sources to pay my teachers.
I would like to use studio helper to:
- track pay rate by teacher
- track how much I owe them
- track/schedule payment dates
In addition, (another feature set) I would like to track teacher performance based on studio helper data including: Retention rate (average time a student stays with the teacher), trial lesson conversions, absenteeism, referrals)
I'm fairly new to the program so I may be missing the ability to do some of this already......
You will now see a rate tab within teacher profiles in order to list how you pay them. A report is next in order to track that pay.

It would be lovely to have a report that shows teacher's compensation that is also tied in with the studio expenses. Right now, I keep a spreadsheet where I input lessons taught x teacher pay per lesson. Once I right a check, I have to notate it on my spreadsheet, input it into the Studio Helper expenses, and mark it in my bank register. Studio Helper isn't going to balance my checkbook, but it would be nice if the other steps were combined.

It would very easy and useful to have SH calculate teacher compensation as part of a teacher report that could be run monthly. It should show how many lessons a teacher taught, total hours of teaching, list of students and lessons taught during that period, and the teacher's compensation.
The formula for teacher's compensation would be:
(no. of lessons taught) x (teacher pay per lesson) = teacher compensation
or
(total time teaching) x (teacher hourly rate) = teacher compensation -

The last part of your question interests me. How bout generating a report that helps us work out the retention rate of each teacher. Avg weeks student spends with a teacher ect?

When I run payroll, I would like to be able to 'mark off' which lessons to pay a teacher for, just a little check box next to each lesson or a screen like the one where we set attendance. After you check off which lessons needs to be run on the next payroll, the next screen could show a list of all your teachers and the amount to cut their checks for with a three fields next to that to input the check date, check number, and amount. Then when teachers log in, they can see their past payroll information and future check to be expecting.

I have teachers who teach both 30 min classes and 50 min. classes, so I would like to have the option to set the length of class and the price for each of them.

It would be nice to have a mileage feature built in as well. Both for tracking payment for teachers that are paid mileage as well as for their personal benefit with taxes at the end of the year. Some of my in-home lesson teachers are paid an hourly rate, as well as a flat rate mileage.
The cost per lesson could be built into the package system - but I would imagine most teachers are paid per hour of lesson taught / missed by student while some studios may be charging per month so an hourly feature would be most useful. Just a heads up that some teachers may make different hourly rates based on the task they are performing.

I have teachers who get paid various rates depending on student, instruments etc. It would be very beneficial to have a system that can track that so that I can see an actual dollar amount I owe rather than just the hours taught.
