have a save option so you can save different teachers on any given day.
You should have a save option on the calender so you can set up your staff of teachers on different days. So when you switch from Monday to Tuesday you can have a total different line-up of teachers without having to filter or update the list. This would help for those schools that may have say 20 teachers on staff but only 5 or six teach on any given day.

Student Lead Lesson Swaps
We have a local competitor who only teaches one instrument and gives all the contact info of all her students out to her students so that if they can't make it to their lesson one week, they can put out a request that someone swap their time with them. A great idea that probably saves her a great deal of lost income and while I'm sure in one sense the parents are thrilled about it, some folks must not like the lack of privacy. Create a self-scheduling option
At the beginning of every year, fitting students into a workable schedule is a nightmare. I currently use pick-a-time.com to show parents the available lesson slots and allow them to choose their preferred time. Would love to see something like this built into Studio Helper.

Allow Coloring By Location
It would be great for a lessons studio if we were allowed to color-code based on location rather than or as well as category. As a studio, color coding by location would be easier because then the category could be the instrument, whereas now we just list category and location as the same thing (room #).
i.e. Room 1 = Red and then Category = guitar (or piano, or voice)
3 votesI don’t think this will be considered since Event Categories are already color-coded. It would be confusing to give another color for the same event if it already has an event category. I would suggest that you use the event category to classify your events per location to take advantage of the color-coding feature. Chronological Order for Automatic Billing From Calendar
Put dates in order on the invoice
When I do an invoice using the "Enable Automatic Billing From Calendar" --
the dates are all over the place. It would be helpful to me and to the
parents if the dates were in chronological order.Thanks!

Set up "daily" recurring events for only Monday-Friday
I do several summer classes that meet on a daily basis....but only Monday thru Friday. As far as I can tell, there is no option to make a class repeat daily, but not include Saturday and Sunday. It would be helpful to be able to do this, so that this large block class is not indicating that our only large room is already in use on Saturdays during those weeks.
1 voteThe option to repeat on specific days of the week is found in the “weekly” repeat option. Choose “weekly”, then put a checkmark in the days you want the event created (ie. Mon-Fri). If you choose the “daily” repeat option, it implies every day.

Allow for events to occur over multiple days
I.E. Add an option to have an appointment start at 11pm on the 1st and end at 2am on the second. This Causes a lot of duplicate work on our end because we run a recording studio which operates 24hrs a day.

don't send reminder every time I adjust an event in the calendar
If I've selected remind teacher & parents/students for an event and then make an adjustment to the event (usually to correct an error, the system automatically sends out a reminder. As I've made numerous typos in the process of setting up my summer calendar, I have accidentally inundated students with endless incorrect reminders.
I know I could turn off the who to remind things -- but then I'll forget to turn them back on.
My preference would be for the reminder to go out as scheduled (I usually use 12 hours before) and let me decide if I want a…

*Email studentsThe "X" does the delete events; it's already easy to switch to a day view; adding an event is already easy enough; SH uses the attendance page to reconcile so really not needed.

split student and parent in the event reminder
Lot's of my students don't have their own emails. At first I tried leaving the email address in the student profile bland --- but then the student did not receive their lesson notes when I filled out the attendance info.
So I took out the parent email and had only a student email. Then I couldn't send email or invoices to parents.
I would like to see the options for event notification to be:
teacher
student
parent

Taking of Attendance
Setting of Attendance is currently only limited to the 1st 50 entries. As such we cannot set attendance for any other events after the 1st 50.
We should be able to select the date range.

Have the invoices running "live" with the calendar
We always invoice a month ahead, so it would be really great if the invoices ran "live" with the calendar. If a student cancels a lesson on the calendar then the program would automatically show that on the invoice. Right now we are manually taking each canceled lesson off the already generated invoices.
18 votesOnce an invoice has been created, it should not be changed, as this could bring up ethical issues. But I think a simpler solution to this would be to issue a credit at the time the lesson is cancelled, which credit than then be applied to a future invoice.

Find an easier way to multiple events
When my studio is closed, I don't delete all the lessons from that day because I need to reconcile each week at the end of the year to see when students come, when the studio is closed, when lessons are cancelled, etc... So let's say I have 8 students on the 4th of July this year. From what I can tell, here is the process I have to take in order to make sure everyone is cancelled: 1. Go to calendar tab 2. Substitute Teacher (& Package?) Option
Right now students are attached to a single teacher and package. It would be very useful to be able to Sub another teacher in place of the student's current teacher or a different package in the place of their default package.
When a teacher is sick or out of town it's a major hassle to have to either switch the student's over to another teacher and reattach packages and then permanently leave them this way so as to not mess up past invoices. Perhaps this could come in the form of a one time modification on the calendar that allows…
